Have you seen this new tool? As usual, Tim Holtz has done it again. It's a dispenser for all of the tissue tapes on the market. Load it and apply with ease. We usually don't put tools in our clubs but this was a "must have" and we couldn't pass it up. Comes with tissue tape from Tim Holtz (though any other tissue tape or washi tape will work in the tool.) These papers are from Fancy Pants, one of the hottest design teams out there these days with coordinating chipboard accents. $25

PLAYGROUND

Brought to you by Echo Park Paper. Echo Park is a fairly new company that we were privileged to see at CHA. I fell in love with their simple, yet bright and happy designs. In Playground you get 8 double-sided patterned papers and a coordinating alphabet sheet. Note that the alphabet sheet is 12"x12" and has 3 separate alphabets on it! Also included are some very pretty flowers from Webster's Pages. We couldn't forget the bling too! You will get a set of bling arrows in red from Basic Grey, and three (yes I said 3) Stickles from Ranger in their new colors! This kit is perfect for any occasion to scrapbook as well as card making.

STARTERS

A new twist on neutral, we bring you the Starters collection from Sassafras Lass. 4 double-sided patterned papers "start" off this kit. Don't forget that Sassafras Lass is known for their creative edge on the bottom of their papers. You can cut this edge off and use it as part of your page as an embellishment or accent. Also included is an alphabet set from Sassafras Lass in a burlap color. This alphabet set looks small, but folds out to reveal 158 (average) letters on a 6"x12" sheet. From Jillibean Soup you get a set of Corrugated Shapes in frames and buttons. My personal favorite in this kit are the Bean Blossoms from Jillibean Soup. Three flowers made from jute winded in a circle with a cute button in the middle. You get two sets of the Bean Blossoms...yeah! If you feel super creative we have included a set of twine from Pink Paislee too. You could use this twine to make your own Bean Blossoms. Last, we leave you with some butterfly wood flourishes from Kaiser Craft. This kit may look a little blah to you, but open your mind and let the creative juices flow. Think of how to alter these products for a splash of color, or think of fun pictures in a sepia tone to adorn this paper. The possibilities are endless.

Designs & Such Abode A La Mode Recipe
Warm Apple Compote (6 papers from Ta Da Studios):

4 T. unsalted butter (Prima Stud Centers)

1/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar (Prima Say It In Pearls)

3 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced (Prima Gypsy Petals)

Assembly:
1 loaf plain pound cake, sliced 1 1/2-inch thick and slightly toasted (I used the broiler to toast both sides) (We like the Prima Fabric Bird)

1 pint of Pecan Ice Cream (Use the Tim Holtz Film Canister)

1 14 1/2 ounce jar of prepared caramel sauce, warmed. . .you won't need the whole jar (Usually adhesive of any kind works best)

Make Compote:
In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, heat butter with sugar until butter is melted. Add apple slices and saute until lightly browned and caramelized, about 10 minutes. (Apples should be soft but not mushy.)

Assemble Dessert:
Place a slice of pound cake on a dessert plate and spoon over a generous helping of apples with cooking liquid. Top with a scoop of pecan ice cream. Drizzle with warmed caramel sauce.
NOTE: You can also try vanilla ice cream with warmed chocolate sauce. This would be really GOOD too! =D

We think it’s nice to take this paper and embellishments and scrap scrap scrap!

In addition to all the papers and coordinating stickers (alphabet, borders and die cut images), you'll get 2 different die cut papers. These are the hottest things on our planet. Add some bling brads, colorful epoxy brads and chipboard numbers. But my favorite embellishment in this set is the mini license plate frame that says "Dance! Get down" Can't you just see those little aliens boogie-ing?

Need to get organized? (Yeah, don't we all) These are some of the greatest inventions for keeping your small embellishments together. They have a safety latch on each bar of 7 sections so you can open them individually without pouring the whole bunch out. They fit nicely into a binder type holder which fits well on any shelf or in any closet and they travel exceptionally well too. I have one for each color in the rainbow. OCD

April 2009 - Fantastico!

This month we present you with Fantistico! As we were walking through CHA a few months ago we came across products that we fell in love with. We thought it would be a Fantastic idea to put them all together into one club…..which is where we came up with the name Fantastico! We are aware that some of these products don’t exactly coordinate, but we just loved them and wanted to share them with you. As always you get two sheets of whatever papers are included, which are from Cosmo Cricket, Bo Bunny, Sassafrass Lass, and Teresa Collins. We also added a Hambly Studio Screen Print in cute pink onesies for all your baby layouts!!! A total must have is the 12x12 Line Template in Plaid Curves from Apple Pie Memories. We were super excited about the 3/16” nickel eyelets from American Tag too. We know some of you love to journal so we included a Dinosaur journaling pad from Creative Imaginations. We found some 5/8” bulk ribbon, 25 yards to be exact in the most darling paw prints designs! Last, but not least is the “Trim With Flair” from Flair Designs self adhesive paper trim in ocean water blue. Have fun and April Fools.

I have exhausted my last brain cell today, so I’m just going to list what comes in this kit.

That’s Splendid. Really. We are So Happy Together, my scrapbook paper and I. It’s True Love. So be prepared to Adore every single sheet of the 7 different double sided patterned papers from Fancy Pants Designs Splendid collection. This isn’t your typical Valentine’s collection. It’s filled with whimsy designs and fun colors for all your scrapbooking needs! One sheet of Valentine’s cards is also included. This is perhaps my favorite part of the whole kit! You can use these cards as actual Valentine’s Day cards or put them on your pages. There is a darling Robot, sweet birds, adorable dinosaur, and cuddly cats. You are just going to LOVE it! CHA 2009 New Items - More

We had to ask this man what he dreams about at night. I know, that sounds a little odd........however, he is the designer for Sassafrass Lass who created the NARWAL. How much do you know about Narwals? We have done our research. Did you know the "horn" that comes out of their head is actually an overgrown tooth that went right through their bottom lip? LOOK!

Definitely something new..... printed sheets of burlap from Prima. You'll be seeing this in our packs soon. OOOOOooooo So pretty.
And these flourishes are made out of pearls. Imagine how they will beautify your pages. Gorgeous!

More flowers - but a little unique. Notice the dark centers? And the middles are laced with more pearls.

We made a new friend at this booth. The owner of this company, Braggables, has a 7 year old daughter who has had to have 5 open heart surgeries. With every order, she donates to the pediatric cardiatric unit at their hospital. Inspiring story and neat family. So we had to order a few bags.

CHA 2009 New Items

Flower designs from Petaloo. They had some "cute" items but nothing for a more sophisticated page. They didn't make our cut this time around but we still like their items.7 Gypsies really hit it on the mark this time. Their embellishments were fantastic and unique and the color scheme for Gypsy Market was absolutely beautiful. You'll be seeing this as one of our monthly pack options soon.

How clever is that? They put one brad in the center of each little tag and jump-ringed them to a bar. Very cute and original.

This is Chatterbox's new line called Beautiful. The colors are vibrant yet not obnoxious and the line of embelishments goes on and on and on. You're going to be shocked at how much you get in each set. For example, everything inside the frame is included in one little package.

We're on our way to CHA. Ashli's flying in from Denver. Cyndi & I are chugging down in my minivan. January 2009 - The Cottage Collection

Happy New Year! Now the craze of the holidays are behind us, the weather is cold and nippy so we can all sit down with our stash of goodies and start scrapping those Christmas celebration photos.

January 2009 - The Elliott Collection

Start the New Year off with this loaded pack of goodies. 6 designs of patterned paper by a new company we found called Scrap Within Reach. All papers are double sided with lots of color and detail.

Add something special with 2 full tins of cream and brown sheers from Maya Road. These embellishment pieces are made from acetate (like milk carton material) and have details such as to do lists, calendars, wish lists, notes, journaling, etc. There are so many pieces in these tins that you could fill pages and have some leftover for special cards.

But that's not it. Also included are 2 packages of details flowers from Imaginisce. These are beautiful with some swirls in browns.

We found a great new company called My Little Shoebox (check out http://www.mylittleshoebox.com/) and this image does not do it justice. The paper is absolutely gorgeous (and double sided).

Embellishments this month include a coordinated sheet of tags and die cuts, a set of flowers from Petaloo, pink ribbons from Chatterbox, a pack of trinkets like buttons and bling also from Chatterbox and a complete alphabet set made out of acetate (transparency sheets) lined with green glitter.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - Spooooooooooky!

This paper is a perfect combination of the Halloween Spirit and current style - lots of rich colors, distress marks, flourishes and awesomely spooky images.

And this month's pack is LOADED with embellishments: self-adhesive pearls (white and black), self-adhesive rhinestones in orange, purple and black, 2 full yards (that's 6 feet!) of self-adhesive felt borders in the shape of spider webs, self-adhesive felt shapes, and biggie brads. Oh, and that small image in the lower left hand corner is a sheet of the coolest rub-on designs.

Whew! You can probably scrapbook the last 4 years of Halloween pictures with as much as is included in this set.
