Abode A La Mode - SOLD OUT

Designs & Such Abode A La Mode Recipe
Warm Apple Compote (6 papers from Ta Da Studios):
4 T. unsalted butter (Prima Stud Centers)
1/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar (Prima Say It In Pearls)
3 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced (Prima Gypsy Petals)
Assembly:
1 loaf plain pound cake, sliced 1 1/2-inch thick and slightly toasted (I used the broiler to toast both sides) (We like the Prima Fabric Bird)
1 pint of Pecan Ice Cream (Use the Tim Holtz Film Canister)
1 14 1/2 ounce jar of prepared caramel sauce, warmed. . .you won't need the whole jar (Usually adhesive of any kind works best)
Make Compote:
In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, heat butter with sugar until butter is melted. Add apple slices and saute until lightly browned and caramelized, about 10 minutes. (Apples should be soft but not mushy.)
Assemble Dessert:
Place a slice of pound cake on a dessert plate and spoon over a generous helping of apples with cooking liquid. Top with a scoop of pecan ice cream. Drizzle with warmed caramel sauce.
NOTE: You can also try vanilla ice cream with warmed chocolate sauce. This would be really GOOD too! =D
We think it’s nice to take this paper and embellishments and scrap scrap scrap!

Butterfly Kisses

3 Bugs in a Rug does is again with adorable images and vibrant colors. Most of these papers just need a photo to complete the page. A full set of jumbo sized puffy stickers in a perfectly coordinated lime green color will make your titles pop. And Prima has introduced a new embellishment - color printed burlap pieces. Oh, what fun!@! Layer them, mat with them, fray the edges or die cut letters and shapes with them. The possibilities are endless. Also included is a pack of beautiful flowers from Prima and jumbo epoxy brads from Adorn It with lots of color and dimension. And for those of you cost conscience scrappers - if you bought this in a store, you would pay $37.16!

Orbit

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! The aliens are coming. Run, hide, cute them up, paste them down. These guys are just plain CUTE. In addition to all the papers and coordinating stickers (alphabet, borders and die cut images), you'll get 2 different die cut papers. These are the hottest things on our planet. Add some bling brads, colorful epoxy brads and chipboard numbers. But my favorite embellishment in this set is the mini license plate frame that says "Dance! Get down" Can't you just see those little aliens boogie-ing?

Purple Suedies

Need to get organized? (Yeah, don't we all) These are some of the greatest inventions for keeping your small embellishments together. They have a safety latch on each bar of 7 sections so you can open them individually without pouring the whole bunch out. They fit nicely into a binder type holder which fits well on any shelf or in any closet and they travel exceptionally well too. I have one for each color in the rainbow. OCD

We were able to get these for $16 each. They retails for $29.99 in the stores. If you're interested, let us know right away. They won't last long. designsandsuch@comcast.net

March 2009 - Skull Boi/Girl

He was a boy, she was a girl.
He was a punk, she did ballet.
What more can I say?

He wanted her, though she'd never tell.
Secretly she wanted him as well.
But all of her friends, stuck up their nose.
They had a problem with his baggy clothes.
He was a skull boi.
She said see you later boi!
He wasn't good enough,
until he got this Kaiser Craft stuff.

It was a match made in heaven.
8 double-sided patterned papers,
they thought it was only seven!

Bling designs in hearts, arrows and stars.
Just like a trip to Mars.

Droplets in orange, purple, and blue.
Don’t forget your glue (I mean adhesive).

Scrapbooking their lives away,
Skull boi and girl, the stories say.

March 2009 - Gypsy Market

February 2009 - Splendid

That’s Splendid. Really. We are So Happy Together, my scrapbook paper and I. It’s True Love. So be prepared to Adore every single sheet of the 7 different double sided patterned papers from Fancy Pants Designs Splendid collection. This isn’t your typical Valentine’s collection. It’s filled with whimsy designs and fun colors for all your scrapbooking needs! One sheet of Valentine’s cards is also included. This is perhaps my favorite part of the whole kit! You can use these cards as actual Valentine’s Day cards or put them on your pages. There is a darling Robot, sweet birds, adorable dinosaur, and cuddly cats. You are just going to LOVE it! Don’t forget about the coordinating sheet of Rub-On’s too. So fun! We have also included a Maya Road tin set of chipboard in cupcake shapes. You can’t pass this one up. Ranging from
½ - 5 inches tall in 21 styles equaling a total of 54 pieces! There are two different cupcake sizes and different toppers, you can mix and match to make the perfect accent for you. Put a cherry on top! And to finish off with a bang we have added the Maya Road Mists! Once you use these you are going to be dying for more. Maya Mists are water-based pigments that are the perfect complement to any piece of chipboard. Use them on your paper, or your hair (ok maybe not your hair). The Red/Silver Mists come in two 1 fl.oz. pump spray bottles. Spray a coat of metallic mist before adding on a base color for a shimmery sparkle effect. Totally AWESOME!

February 2009 - Bittersweet

You can never go wrong with Basic Grey…or can you? Nope. You can’t. This month we bring you Bittersweet. I know that word “bittersweet” may leave a sour taste in your mouth, but when you see this paper you will be drooling. Each piece of the 6 designs makes your mouth water for rich and creamy chocolate. Think See’s candy…..but in scrapbook paper. Yup. It’s that delicious. Don’t forget about the decadent rub-ons, chipboard “chip” stickers, monogram alphabet stickers, glazed brads and buttons. Your pages are going to be dripping with desire. Are you hungry yet?

SCARY ITEMS

Now, we just had to share a few of the products that are just too scary to do anything with except post here on our blog.

CHA 2009 New Items - More

We had to ask this man what he dreams about at night. I know, that sounds a little odd........however, he is the designer for Sassafrass Lass who created the NARWAL. How much do you know about Narwals? We have done our research. Did you know the "horn" that comes out of their head is actually an overgrown tooth that went right through their bottom lip? LOOK!
Definitely something new..... printed sheets of burlap from Prima. You'll be seeing this in our packs soon. OOOOOooooo So pretty.
And these flourishes are made out of pearls. Imagine how they will beautify your pages. Gorgeous!

More flowers - but a little unique. Notice the dark centers? And the middles are laced with more pearls.
We made a new friend at this booth. The owner of this company, Braggables, has a 7 year old daughter who has had to have 5 open heart surgeries. With every order, she donates to the pediatric cardiatric unit at their hospital. Inspiring story and neat family. So we had to order a few bags.
